This weekend: Liverpool

Deciding how to spend your weekend can be very daunting, you've worked hard all week and want the next three nights and two days to go by stress free. Well that's where we come in! After taking a look at the many if not overwhelming amount of events taking place in and around Liverpool this weekend we've hand picked three events we certainly wouldn't want to miss.

As Halloween draws closer it only seems natural to go see our favourite rock ‘n’ roll musical Rocky Horror Show! Back my popular demand (obviously), the thrilling show is a must. Succeeding over 40 years of worldwide productions, Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Show is a non-stop party, one we’d love to be at!

It’s on over the weekend at Liverpool Empire with a few familiar faces, Liam Tamne (Phantom of the Opera, The Voice) as Frank N Furter, Paul Cattermole (S Club 7) as Eddie/Dr Scott, and Steve Punt as the Narrator.

We all know the story by now so we wont beat around the bush, but for those who haven’t seen it in theatre before or the 1975 film, It’s an adventure you’ll never forget, with fun, thrills, frocks and silliness, overflowing with timeless songs like the classic floor filler ‘The Time Warp’ and outrageous outfits.

When: Friday 21st- Saturday 22nd October

Where: The Liverpool Empire Theatre

Price: £14.90 - £47.40

It’s the whopping 40th anniversary tour of ‘I love to Boogie’ by Marc Bolan and his band T.Rex. To honour this the long serving cover band T.Rextasy…we know we just said cover band but they’re not your average song murdering cover band, these lot have been going for over 20 years touring worldwide.

As one of the most extravagant and charismatic stars of the glam rock era you can’t do this half-heartedly. The band is accepted as the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc Bolan’s family, estate, original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan’s catalogue management. So if you’re a true fan you’ll be sure to leave with a smile on your face. A gig for all ages and for those who missed out on the wonder years, this will give you an idea at what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s.

‘Danielz is a curator of Bolan’s life, a perfectionist protector of the legacy – T.Rextasy play with a poignant, flamboyant skill.’
