1. National Trust Cadbury Egg Hunts
It’s Easter weekend, whether Cadbury’s uses the word or not! The National Trust Cadbury Egg Hunts are taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and should be good fun, with over 250 hunts taking place you’ll have no problem finding one not too far away.
We all love chocolate and even more when you gotta search for them/snatch out of someone else's hands. Plenty of activities to enjoy, carnivals, face-painting, arts and crafts and family games. You don’t even have to find anything to leave with a Cadbury treat, everyone who completes a hunt will be rewarded!
Cost: Prices vary depending on your location but entrance fees are usually between £1.50-£3 Click here to find your nearest Cadbury Egg hunt.
2. Etihad Stadium Easter Egg Hunt, Manchester
Footballer fans are in for a treat as the Etihad Stadium brings an Easter twist to their Stadium & Club Tour, running until Sunday.
The behind-the-scenes tour is around 70 minutes long, where you’ll follow in the footsteps of Manchester City's biggest players from Kevin De Bruyne to Sergio Aguero which showcases the best of the club's history. BUT all the while you should keep your eyes peeled for the Easter eggs hidden along the way. Make sure you keep count as you could win a pretty cool signed club t-shirt!
There will be plenty of other exciting games and activities on offer, and you can even showcase your football skills by taking part in a crossbar challenge.
3. The Royal Botanic Easter Trail
If you're in Edinburgh head to the Royal Botanic Garden as the Botanics Bunny has invented a scrumptious chocolate bar with a very secret and very bonkers recipe. You'll be needed to help him find the missing ingredients. Complete the trail and claim your yummy chocolate reward, from Mackie's of Scotland, and a special Golden Ticket offering £2 discount for one adult into the Glasshouses to see the most important ingredient - the chocolate tree. (Kids always go free into the Glasshouses).
4. Birmingham's Botanical Gardens
Or perhaps you're a Brummie, in that case head to B'hams botanical gardens on Easter Sunday! The gardens will host a very exciting egg hunt where 10 Golden Tickets will be hidden around the area, with some brilliant and yummy prizes available for those who manage to find them!
There will also be plenty of chocolate-themed activities including a stand where you can make your own chocolate kebab with mouthwatering marshmallows, fruit, cakes and brownies, or a workshop where you can taste different cocoas and learn about how it's turned into chocolate.
5. For the adults....
Not that we're implying this is how bank holidays should be spent, but for some four days off can mean only one thing....drinking! Boozy brunches that turn into boozy evenings, the weather isn't supposed to be as glorious as last week so we suggest heading to a pub garden with a brolly and outdoor heaters! Thank goodness for Monday ay!
